Senior Management Team

The Senior Management Team is now being appointed, with one post still to be confirmed.

In the first year of the school, there will be five Depute Head Teachers linked to the school.  This number is determined by the school role of 1200, which is expected to reduce over the next three years.

The following senior management structure is likely in session 2016-2017.

S1 and S5 Depute Head Teacher: Mrs MacArtney

As well as being the year Head for S1 & S5 pupils, Mrs MacArtney also has responsibility for the following aspects of the school operations:

  • Guidance Links
  • Support for learning 
  • Staged Assessment & Behaviour Management
  • Curriculum For Excellence: Skills Development
  • Work Experience
  • Line Management: English & Support for Learning 

S3 and S4 Depute Head Teacher: Mr Bowman

Together with his responsibility for the S3 and S4 year groups, Mr Bowman also has a remit covering the following areas of school development.

  • Staff Continuous Professional Development
  • Staff Professional Review and Development
  • SQA Coordination & School Examinations
  • Management of Home School Links
  • Curriculum for Excellence: Literacy, Numeracy and Health & Wellbeing
  • ICT Coordinator
  • Curriculum for Excellence: Developing new National Qualifications
  • Line Management: Mathematics, Technical, Home Economics & Modern Languages
  • NQT and Student Teachers

S2 and S6 Depute Head Teacher: Ms Coulter

Ms Coulter is responsible for leading the S2 & S6 student year group and also has the following additional tasks on her remit:

  • Timetabling
  • ICT & GLOW
  • Staff Absence & Cover
  • Links with the school librarian
  • Curriculum for Excellence: Health & Well-being
  • Assessment & Reporting
  • Line Management: Business Studies, Music and Art & design
  • Curriculum for Excellence: Overview of Senior Phase 

Head Teacher: Mr Todd

 Mr Todd  has responsibility for managing and leading the school, including:

  • Curriculum for Excellence: Curriculum Structures, Ethos & Life of the school
  • Improvement Planning & Self-Evaluation
  • Selection and recruitment of staff
  • Line Management: Science, P.E., Technicians and PT Supporting Student Achievement

All of the above managers work closely together and support and monitor many other whole school issues, including: 

  • Awards of Merit and Prizegiving
  • Learning & Teaching
  • National, Inverclyde Council & School policies
  • Health and Safety
  • Working with Partner Agencies
  • Managing Behaviour
  • Discipline & Grievance Procedures
  • Deputising for Head Teacher where appropriate
