Clydeview Academy Masterclass in Film and TV production.
A ten week Masterclass in Film and TV production is currently being delivered to students in Clydeview Academy. It is aimed at students who intend to work in the television and film industry and all year groups have been involved, from S1 to S6.
The course is a collaboration between the school and Rig Arts and is being delivered by Industry professionals, such as Danny McCahon, a screenwriter who has written for television programmes including ‘Casualty,’ ‘Emmerdale’ and ‘Taggart’. A wide range of skills are being taught including: script-writing, directing, camera work, sound and lighting, as well as props and wardrobe.
Everyone seems to be taking advantage of all the professional skills on offer. When asked about the course Leigh McIntosh, a first year on the course explained, 'It's a really fun course. You get to use real filmmakers' cameras and you are taught how to use them correctly.' Kimberly Millar another S1 added, 'It kind of builds your confidence. I've never thought about sound and camera in a film but it's a new experience.'
The filming and editing should be ready by February so keep your diaries free as the Premier will be in the Waterfront Cinema around Easter time.
