Clydeview Academy Christmas Concert Tour
On Friday Dec 12th, our vocal instructor Mrs Beck took a group of 25 pupils on a short Christmas Tour to perform for residents at some of our local care homes.
Mrs Beck said “This was such tremendous fun! The pupils were brilliant all day. We started off at Alt na Craig Nursing Home where the residents had themselves prepared a song to sing for us which was so lovely. They also gave all the pupils goody bags after our performance. Then we moved onto Glenfield who were equally welcoming and appreciative.
“After these two homes we then had lunch at McDonalds where they had very kindly reserved 30 seats for us and gave us all preferential treatment. Then it was on to Ravenscraig, where the residents were dancing and all singing along.
“At Ravenscraig Hospital, they had prepared a wrapped Christmas box of chocs and sweets for each pupil, which was so lovely, and then to finish - Tesco - no, not to shop but to sing for the customers. Here we had a great suggestion by the pupils to start with a flash mob of Happy - which we did!! It was great fun - customers and staff stopped to listen and joined in the singing and dancing!
“This was such a great day, and the pupils involved really did Clydeview Academy proud !! They gave of their time chatting to the residents too and wishing them Happy Christmas- all very special. Miss Beaton also did a fantastic job with all the music and backing tracks and I thank her very much !
The next leg of the tour will be the Beacon Arts Centre on Monday 15th!
“I really hope we can make it an annual event - it was so worthwhile and really heartwarming!
“Thanks for the opportunity Clydeview.”
